We are rapidly losing all the things that make the Gold Coast a great place to live - ease of getting around, affordability, communities, public assets such as parks, cultural and and sporting facilities.

The current mayor is focussed on growth that only benefits developers - we have more homelessness, crime and congestion than ever before.

Growth needs to compliment what we already have, it needs to benefit real peolple and provide real homes.

As Mayor, I'll reinstate the council's Climate Change and Koala Management units, collaborate with my elected colleagues for opportunities to change, and support residents and businesses to transition for a stronger future.

We are currently being managed by boomers with no care for our future beyond money. This needs to change.

Climate change is real and as a city that relies on great weather, we have a lot to lose. Councils around Australia are measuring their carbon outputs, greening their cities and working to generate improved outcomes for our children, and grandchildren. It's time we stepped up.
